Compagnie des Indes rums are produced with great care and elegance. The idea was brought to life in memory of the former East India Company from the seventeenth and eighteenth century that selected rare commodities from distant continents and imported them to their countries. Like them, Compagnie Des Indes rum select only the best qualities of rum from all over the world and import these.
Compagnie des Indes refers in French to the old “West Indies Companies” from the Dutch, British, Portuguese and French empires during the 17th and 18th century. The idea behind the brand is to give an atmosphere of authenticities with the travels and discoveries of this era, during which time Rum was one of the most consumed spirits in the world.
Made from a blend of rums from British Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, this “Caribbean” blend is full of aromas.
Aged in bourbon casks for 3 to 5 years in the Caribbean, the rums are then imported into Europe and carefully tasted, to be part of the final product.
Made mostly from a blend of rums from Central America, (60% of rums from Guatemala) with a touch of Guyanese rums as well as some from Trinidad and Barbados, this blend brings out the characteristics of Latin American rums, with round and weedy notes.
Foursquare Distillery is located in the south-east of the island and was built in 1996 by the Seale family, to produce very qualitative rums without additional flavors. Foursquare’s rums are really special, because it’s the result of pot still and column still rums aged in ex-bourbon barrels. This rum, distilled in December 1998, was aged in the Tropics until 2004, and then imported into Europe.
